NEWS FLASH: I am exhibiting  3-11 November at ARTISANS IN THE GARDENS, Botanic Gardens, Sydney. See their website www.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/friends or phone 02 9231 8182 for further information. See you there !
I have been making things all my life but the last 15 years have seen me learning more and more about developing my own fabrics, starting with silk painting in 1992, progressing through various workshops and brainstorming with other artists and masses of trial (and error)
on my own. Now I have a range of techniques at my fingertips: different and varied dyeing methods, resist techniques, printing and manipulating, texturising and embellishing. Each and every piece of fabric is unique and hand made, takes time and patience, and every part of the process is done by me ! I strive constantly for high aesthetic and excellent finish in the construction in all my works of art.

Australian landscape, light and colour provide me with endless inspiration. Whether from the red desert sands of Central Australia, the blues and greens of the tropical Top End, a glimpse of light filtering through leaves and casting their glow, or a rusted weathered piece of discarded corrugated iron, all contribute to the creative inspiration. The paintings of Claude Monet have been my constant ‘mentor’.

I have exhibited in Australia for several years and have been acquired into several public and private collections including The Alice Craft Acquisition, a premier craft collection in Australia. I find that exhibiting really keeps me on my toes in exploring and exploiting materials and techniques, whilst looking for improvements in construction and finishing.
